30 May -Using Fibers

Using FIBERS is our creativity to share with YOU today!!

I hope you have come from Erica's cricut craft room at  mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com   IF not, thank you for coming here BUT I would LOVE it if you would go back here when done to see more creativity with Fibers OR the other feature today which is WYEGW using the Phrase feature.  (WYEGW is Would You Ever Guess Wednesday) using a feature OTHER than the main one you see..

This was FUN!!!   Creating a project using fibers was a challenge other than a "ribbon" style; at least for me.... After a while staring at the fibers - a light came on and well...

I found this awesome manequin on the cartridge Forever Young. Cut at 5.417h & 1.792w. using the Bubblegum Stripes Imagine cartridge for the fill of color on the manequin.    I cut it 2 times making the 2nd; using the bottom to be a solid color and the top part as a back drop to the top.  Using 3d  dots to give it the raised look.

(*** NOTE..  The colors of manequin "dress" and bottom of stand is supposed to be black BUT evidently I am almost out of black ink on my imagine and it came out grey..)

I used fibers from Ctmh Summer Celebrations Z468.  I wrapped the multitude of misc colors starting at the top like a shaw and then wrapping around the waist on down as a skirt of many colors.    Using a strand of silver cord from ctmh - I wrapped it 2x to give a little extra like a belt...

I used 2 colors of Liquid Pearls as buttons along the shaw and skirt.  Majestic Purple & Gold Pearl

Stamp sentiment is from Kandrewdesigns 'Fashionable Friends"  I used 2 sayings to create this sentiment.

Using Grey Wool ctmh  ink pad around the edges and the sentiment.
Tell me... What have you created using Fibers other than hanging on your card like ribbon???   Would love to know!
While Erica's Shop may not have Ctmh fibers - she has many other style fibers, these cartridges used today, Liquid Pearls and much much more...  at  http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com/

Design Team Calling....

  My Cricut Craft Room

I have copied and pasted from Erica's Blog at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com

                           Design Team Call

June is the end of the first year's term.

January 2012-January 2013 or July 2012-July 2013
Those who joined in January are here until January, but those who joined last June....
their term is up and some of them are moving on.

I am looking for 6 new members.
There are 6 members moving on and I would love to offer those positions to talent ladies.
Here is a little bit about it....

My Cricut Craft Room

I am looking for people for all talent levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

So even if you have never shared anything that you have made,
even if you do not know much about a blog.... I still want you!

You have to make one project each week. You also must participate in the 100 Cricut Cartridge blog hop the first full weekend each month.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the typical weekly guidelines.
Within the guidelines the themes from week to week vary.

On Monday we use a letter of the day, Let's say the letter is D, They can make something with a cartridge that begins with the letter D, such as Damask Decor, Doodlecharms....etc
Or they may make something that starts with the letter D, Dog, Dish, Dots....etc
Or they make something using a feature key that starts with the letter D,
The other option for each Monday is the option to use the Imagine cartridges in the Imagine machine or the E2, the cricut mini or the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive cartridges.

On Tuesday we make cards. You can use that week's sketch from the challenge to make a card or use that Tuesday's theme

Wednesday we use cartridges in unique ways that most people would never think of.... Would You Ever Guess Wednesday, the idea is to say I would never have thought of that. We will also show you a specific technique used then I will teach that technique Wednesday night on Ustream.

Thursdays are our Theme days, I give a different theme each week or within that theme you can make a home decor project, card, scrapbook layout.... or anything.
I also give the option to use that day's specific cartridge.

Fridays are Scrapbook days.
There are always two options, one might be a color choice, theme, or another fun thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You get the weekends off, except the first weekend of the month when we go through 100 cartridges during our 100 cartridge blog hop the first weekend of each month.

As a design team member you would be responsible for one posting a week on your blog and link it back to my blog.

While on the team you get a discount in my webstore after a month of not missing postings. You get a special Design Team blinkie to post on your blog. In addition to your discount in the webstore you will also have free items added to an order you make with the intention to be used on a Design Team project. So you may order with your Design Team discount but you will also get additional free items to use for a Design Team posting)
The store discount begins at 20%-40% off retail discount. You also may have the chance to attend CHA (Craft and Hobby Association tradeshow)
So HOW can YOU become a member of my team???

Please make a NEW, never seen before project using at least 2 different Cricut Cartridges. Creativity is very important. You may use as many cartridges as you would like. Do what ever you need to to show how creative (or practical) you are. Either one is expected- creative or practical.

22 May - Daisy flower card

Please make sure to go back to Erica's cricut craft room here at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to see the many more projects for today's...

                          CARD CREATING TUESDAY!!

You can go to  http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com/ to get this cricut cartridge and the Liquid Pearls along with the many other items in her store to help with your creativity!!

Getting creative is fun and easy with your cricut cartridge. especially when you think outside a cartridge...

Today, we are making a DAISY card.  I dug deep and found this adorable Image in Disney Mickey & Friends.

creating it at 1.20h & 4.89w -  I created 2 layers - 1 in white and 1 in yellow.  cut out the flowers in white to give a 3d depth..  layering them since Daisies are white and yellow.....

Using Buttercup liquid pearls I dabbed them in the middle of each daisy flower.

My pastors wife and friend Nellene found flowers on the computer that represented Christ in his word.  We had a women's brunch recently with flowers.  I printed her bible verse on the computer and used a graphic in Print Shop for the row of Daisies.  Again using the Buttercup Liquid pearls in the middle of each flower.

This card will be sent to her as a Thank You....

inked around the edges using ctmh  ink pad Buttercup.

Please go back to Erica's Cricut craft room  HERE to see more creativity by my fellow design team Sisters

Would love it if you left me a comment and tell me what you think.

17 May -THEME cartridge... KATE's ABC's - name tag

I hope you have come from Erica's blog first but IF not, please head back over there at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com and follow my Design team Sisters in their creativity for either their theme cartridge or today's other choice of Wedding.. something New.
    Erica has decided today, we could pick our own THEME cartridge for today...  decisions.. decisions.. so many good ones to pick.. So I have chosen;
Kate's ABC's
I made Name badges for a church women's brunch that we had for Mother's Day called Blossoms & Bonnets.

Cutting out at 2 inches from this adorable bonnet.  On the ribbon part I used so many colors from either Stickles or Liquid pearls. to coordinate with the color of the hat.

The top part of the brim of the hat I embossed using so many of the Paper lace 2 and other flowery   embossing plates. I then lightly colored with a coordinating color.

I used a flower from Prima Flowers and then dotted  in the middle a coordinating color from stickles or Liquid Pearls.

Magnets are on the back so that they could wear them after they put their name on them.

I made 52 bonnets in all - so many colors and after a while I got a little crazy with colors!  it was FUN!!  here in this pic they were drying!

IN PIECES...

It just goes to show the versatility of these awesome cartridges in the many uses they can provide for your creativity!!

Please head back here at...  mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com to be more inspired by my DT sisters!

7 May - Imagine project

I hope you have joined me from Erica's Cricut craft room at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com  When you are done please go back (link on bottom of post too..) to see many more awesome projects created by my Design Team Sisters!

Today is IMAGINE -nation day.. Using any Imagine cartridge and getting creative...

REMEMBERING...  JUST because a title of a cartridge states a theme  -there is SO MUCH MORE you can do within the "theme"...  Example shown here today..

Today I show you NURSERY TAILS Imagine cartridge using just the paper on page 35.  to not only make a note pad but double sided paper.

The flower is from Cricut Cartridge        and cut and designed at 3inches on the Cricut craft Room. I just flooded in on the Imagine machine and printed.

I made double sided paper using the Imagine.  the blue is a coordinating color to this cartridge.  As I designed the paper on the Imagine  -I also planned how big the flower would be and made the paper size accordingly!

How do you make double sided paper -  I used a square image (from George basics) made the square size I was wanting.  print it out and cut.....   NEXT i then used the the same square and flooded it with the coordinating color and put it back in the same spot as it was cut fom (just turn to the white side.  you might want to carefully  tack it down.  REPEAT print and when it was time to cut - I hit STOP..   (NOTE:  next time I will stop the cut the first time and cut at the 2nd printing) - and there you have double sided paper!

I used the middle circle and excluded that from the cut BUT used it for the paper inside. So it all fit nice.  using a hand hole punch in the white paper and flower.

Using a 1in book ring - It opens up - and you can put all your white paper and put your note pad together.   I have 40 more to make...

Inked around the edges...  Don't know If I will do this for each white piece of paper since I am putting 25 circles in each notepad...  BUT for the flower I will as it coordinates with the different paper colors throughout the  Imagine cartridges.

Lovely Floral, Cherry Limeade & Imagine Nursery Tails

1st Picture I have combined 2 cartridges; LOVELY FLORAL & NURSERY RHYMES:

** Lovely Floral for the Pretty flower cut out.  I used the colors pink from Nursery Rhymes.

**Nursery Rhymes Imagine cartridge is also using the very pretty die cut image of the mushroom with the butterfly and dragon fly from page 11 cut out at    as well as the sentiment cut Scatter Kindness using the blue color from Nursery Rhymes.

The image from the flower image is able to cut additional flowers to make it a little 3d, but I choose to keep it off.

*stickles Cotton Candy is the center point of the flowers and on the butterfly and mushroom.

* Ribbon on card is from a misc stash.  It is light brown and pink

* Green C/S is used for background and inked with chocolate ink from ctmh as well as the pink flower frame.

PLEASE CHECK OUT ERICA'S store to get these cartridges and many MORE supplies used here today  at   http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com/

3 May - National Day of Prayer...

                           NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

I hope you have come from Erica's Cricut Craft Room over at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com.  Today is Theme Thursday in which is today's card..

Today, no matter your faith is a day of ALL walks of faith to come together to PRAY...   and you too.. not only today, but everyday YOU to can pray to God or whatever God you worship.....  HE HEARS YOU!!

Using the Cricut Cartridge New Testament..  One of the awesome features is crosses.  I used the cross on the overlay #31 sized at 4.06h.  using scraps of silver paper I had. I cut the 3 crosses.

perfect stamp set is using K Andrews Scripture Sayings...   I chose 3 (really wanted to choose all of the 18 verses... but space allowed 3).  stamped on the same silver paper and torn and a little black ink around the edge to make it pop...

Purple paper in background - Majestic... is the Lord and purple come to mind...

using ctmh ribbon wrapped around the cross to give you a sense of his crown and that he DIED for you...  He is ready to hear your PRAYERS!!

I have to share with you.. the devil himself was messing with my camera when I was taking the pictures...  there are so many that either the crosses were blinded or the verses..  so please accept these pictures as these are the best that came out...

Please head back over to Erica's Cricut Craft Room at mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com   to see more cards and projects by my talented design team sisters

1 May - Fathers Day Fishing card!

                             THEME:  FATHER DAY CARDS

While browsing at her site.  Please visit Erica's on-line store at  http://www.shop.ericascraftroom.com/ to get all your crafting supplies!

Father's Day is coming up..  All dad's need a card of their favorite hobby - mine hubby loves to fish. The grandkids just think he is the coolest to go fishing with.   Our 7yr old thinks he always catches the biggest fish - no matter the size!!

Today, using the Imagine cartridge The Good Old Days, I have created using the fisherman at 4in on the Imagine using the Cricut Craft Room.  Using ctmh colored pencils has colored in his face and hands to represent dad...

Stampin Up! stamp sets: Happy fathers Day is from a set from 1998 and the inside sentiment from a 2005 stamp set featuring kids dressed like adults with a mothers day stamp too..

random scrap paper to enhance the colors of card and then my favorite...  black twine from Ctmh used as the fishing line.

I hope you like my card and see that you can manipulate cards to your needs...
